On 16 October 2026, students of N.S.K. Ponniah Gounder Higher Secondary School received the trust's first scholarships, in the school where Sri V. Thulasiraman was Head Teacher.
The day began with a floral tribute to Sri V. Thulasiraman and Srimathi Ramani Thulasiraman. Their portrait, garlanded with jasmine and marigold, stood beside the stage throughout.
The event was chaired by the school's correspondent, Rambha. Head Teacher Venkatkumar welcomed the gathering. Trustees, teachers and students attended.
Students selected by the school came forward one by one to receive their scholarships from the trustees and guests.
Each year, students who place in the top three in the Class 10 and Class 12 public examinations will receive a scholarship.
The trustees also said more schools will be selected, so that scholarships can reach poor students there too.
Dinamalar reported that former students of NSKP's 1981 batch came together to start the AHAL trust in memory of their Head Teacher, Thulasiraman, and that the trust presented scholarships to poor students selected by the school.
The report also carried the trust's plan to reward the top three students in the Class 10 and Class 12 public examinations each year, and to extend support to more schools.
